Background Information

Jones Travel & Tours (JTL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tongan owned E.M. Jones Group (EMJ). EMJ was incorporated in 1911 with a travel division trading under E.M. Jones Travel since 1950. In 1999 it was deemed necessary due to expansion and operational clarity to formalize the travel operation thus creating JTL. Since inception, JTL has continued to develop and would now be considered the most successful and internationally recognized travel agency in the Kingdom of Tonga.

JTL has three offices and a currency exchange outlet. Two are located in the mainland of Tongatapu and one in the outer island Vava’u. The currency exchange outlet is at the Fua’amotu International Airport which opens to all international flights.

JTL’s main office is right in the heart of Nuku’alofa, capital of Tonga. The second office is situated in the urban district of Ma’ufanga which is about 5 minutes drive from Nuku’alofa. This office is also the General Sales Agent for Air Pacific Ltd and United Parcel Services (UPS).  The third office in outer island of Vava’u which is about 1 hour flight from the mainland and is under the care of Linda Pulini as directed from the main office.

All JTL has to offer can be done from these different locations which include offering professional advice on destinations and making arrangements for transportation, accommodations, car rentals, cargo, courier services, tours and major cruise lines. JTL also promotes travel packages required by resorts and leisure groups as well as providing information on customs regulations, required travel documents and intercede on traveler’s behalf to make alternate booking arrangements in the event of changes in itineraries in the middle of a trip.

JTL is an accredited agent for IATA has developed throughout the years a good reputation and rapport with the local suppliers thus very reliable and stable.

• Nuku'alofa Office
• Our Nuku'alofa Office is located at the heart of Nuku'alofa downtown. It is beside our own E.M.Jones Retail Store at the corner of the intersection of Taufa'ahau Rd and Wellington Rd.
• Ma'ufanga Office
• Our Ma'ufanga Office is located at the Gas Station beside the Kinikinilau Shopping Center at Ma'ufanga.
